Alpha Tec significantly extends the shelf life of our AFB specimen preparation reagents
Alpha Tec is excited to announce a significant extension of the expiration date for our AFB specimen preparation reagents. As part of our commitment to providing superior products and ongoing process improvements, Alpha Tec has been able to extend the shelf life of our NAC-PAC™, NAC-PAC™ Red, NPC-67™ Neutralizing Buffer, XPR-plus™ Neutralizing Buffer, M/15 phosphate buffer, and Pellet Resuspension Buffer from 12 months to 24 months. Alpha Tec is proud to be the first company to make this important switch, once again taking innovative steps to provide the best possible products for our customers.
This extension in expiration date does not derive from any changes in the manufacturing processes of any of our reagents; the product you will be receiving has not been changed in either formulation or constituent components and will still provide the same performance and diagnostic improvements you have come to expect from Alpha Tec Systems AFB specimen preparation reagents. In order to validate the fact that our products exhibit no loss in diagnostic performance over a period of 24 months Alpha Tec Systems performed a series of long term, rigorous tests on a numerous lots of each of these products, none of which demonstrated any reduction in performance over a period in excess of two years.
Through extending the shelf life of our AFB preparation reagents, we are able to maintain our commitment to quality while also providing benefits not offered by any conventional alternative. With an extended expiration date laboratories’ can now confidently order larger quantities yielding an overall savings in shipping cost, and prevent reagent waste caused by expiration in laboratories with smaller patient test volumes. For our international customers the increased shelf life of our products ensures that even after maritime shipment all reagents will still have ample time for use.
