Alpha Tec improves the packaging of our stain control slides
At Alpha Tec we maintain a commitment to creating technologies that improve diagnostic performance as well as being environmentally responsible. Alpha Tec’s stain control slides have always provided an effective means of mitigating the subjectivity inherent in staining protocols and improve laboratory efficiency by eliminating the need to maintain stock cultures and prepare known positive controls. While the performance of our stain control slides has always been exceptional, we felt there was room to improve them by limiting their impact on the environment, so we have recently updated our packaging to further our commitment to a healthy, sustainable laboratory.
In the coming weeks, you will notice a significant change in the way our stain control slides are packaged. Instead of the polystyrene packaging you have seen in the past, Alpha Tec slides will now be shipped in a durable chipboard container. This new packaging is designed for easy storage and use on a laboratory bench and will still provide ample protection during shipping, but is now fully recyclable. Additionally, each slide is now individually packaged in a sealed foil pouch designed to preserve the integrity of the control sample and offer additional protection to the remaining slides after the external box is opened.
Though we have updated our packaging, you can still expect the same product quality, and the same broad range of control organisms (including Gram, acid fast bacilli, Nocardia, Cryptosporidium, and enteric protozoan parasites). All part numbers, product quantities, and pricing will remain unchanged, simply order as you always have to receive the same cost effective product you have come to expect.
