Traditional parasite concentration procedures have always been limited by the fact that they do not recover protozoan trophozoites or Strongyloides spp. Alpha-Tec Systems has radically improved upon traditional concentration methods and now laboratories can isolate and identify a greater number and wider variety from concentrated patient samples. Using Proto-fix™ CLR, Consed™ CLR, and the PRS™ system both permanent stains and wet preps can be performed from the concentrated pellet with no loss of trophozoites or nematodes, and no distortion of parasite morphology.
